World Child Cancer to host a discussion at the 2022 Skoll World Forum

On April 8th 2022 World Child Cancer will be hosting a virtual discussion on ‘Innovative Technology for Paediatric Patient Education in LMICs’ on Ecosystem Day at the 2022 Skoll World Forum.

The session will provide an opportunity to learn about how we’re collaborating with the Xploro app to help children with cancer in Ghana.

Xploro is an award winning and clinically validated health information platform that uses augmented reality, gameplay and artificial intelligence to deliver health information to young patients, in a way which makes them feel empowered, engaged and informed. This is based on research evidence demonstrating children using Xploro had a statistically significant reduction in procedural anxiety and significant increases in procedural knowledge and patient satisfaction. The findings of this research were published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research.

Xploro has been tested in Ghana and we plan to introduce Xploro to hospitals in Mexico and other countries. By putting health information in the hands of children, using language and interaction paradigms they are familiar with, we aim to reduce stress and anxiety, ultimately improving their treatment and clinical outcomes.

Join us as we collaborate virtually on innovation in pediatric cancer care.
