Community and
Events Intern
I joined World Child Cancer as an intern after working with children in Southeast Asia for several years. Because of the charity’s size, I was able to familiarise myself with all of its areas, including fundraising, community and events and programmes. The World Child Cancer team really let me set my own limits with how much I could take on beyond my core tasks, which was perfect for getting involved in all different aspects of what the organisation does. My work with World Child Cancer left me truly inspired after witnessing how powerful an impact such a small organisation can have. BECOME AN INTERN

Fundraising Intern Working with the World Child Cancer team has given me an incredible opportunity to gain experience working within the charity sector. Being part of a small team has allowed me to really dive in and make the most of this experience, and allowed me to learn so much. There is never a dull moment with lots of variety in day-to-day assignments and plenty of opportunities to learn something new. Not only have I gained insight into how a small charity works, but I’ve also had the chance to work with an international charity and build a foundation for a permanent job in the charity sector after graduation. Corporate Partnership Intern My time as a Corporate Partnership Intern during World Child Cancer's 2015 partnership with Deutsche Bank provided me with the amazing opportunity to gain experience in two fields I feel passionately about: international humanitarian work and public health. I was fortunate to have not only the show of confidence the World Child Cancer team made by giving me many opportunities to collaborate on their work, but to also have their warm support in taking charge of my own projects. As a student from Boston I found some of the most exciting experiences happened outside the office, such as getting to abseil down Broadgate Tower in Shoreditch, and helping to organize events that allowed me to explore almost all parts of London. Although the internship only lasted six months, I will look back dearly on my time at World Child Cancer for a lifetime. BECOME AN INTERN
