Opportunity to undertake a review of a pilot nurse education initiative
Employment Type: Consultancy
Location: Currently working from home
Salary: See Below
Closing Date: Tuesday 5th October 2021 – 9AM GMT
World Child Cancer seeks an experienced nurse educator (preferably with paediatric or paediatric oncology background) to undertake a review of a one-year paediatric oncology nurse (PON) educational course that was delivered through the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives (GCNM) in 2020/21.
Timeline – to complete review before 30th November 2021.
The paediatric oncology nurse (PON) one-year course is a first of its kind in sub-Saharan Africa. The need and the demand among nurses working on paediatric oncology wards and units across Africa for specific PON education is high. World Child Cancer wishes to continue to support the delivery of one-year education and training courses for nurses across Ghana and beyond. And within the GCNM there is ambition to build on this initial one-year PON course.
World Child Cancer is seeking assistance from nurse educators to review the course as developed to date, and to make specific recommendations relevant for the College, the course developers, and World Child Cancer.
Please see the Terms of Reference (ToR) attached.
Ghana Paediatric Oncology Nurse Education and Training

World Child Cancer has identified 7 key questions it hopes this review can answer. See page 4/5 of the ToR. You will not have to travel to Ghana, a nurse educator from Ghana will assist you in completing the review.
Please send your CV to Sally Crook at World Child Cancer sally.crook@worldchildcancer.org to express your interest. In your email, please include your expected fee for this piece of work.
World Child Cancer will then invite selected candidates to send a detailed schedule – that the candidate will develop – to complete the review before final selection of the reviewer.
