Helping Kids with Cancer Feel Brave: Bernice’s Story

Imagine being a child in a hospital, facing cancer, not knowing what will happen next. It’s scary. But thanks to your support, kids in Ghana don’t have to face it alone.

At Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Bernice Ali is there to help. She’s a Child Life Specialist, using stories, play, and educational resources like Xploro to make sure children understand their treatment. When kids learn what’s happening, they feel less afraid. They begin to heal emotionally. And with support, they thrive.

This life-changing support has been made possible thanks to UK Aid Match. Your donations were matched pound for pound by the UK government, meaning twice as many children can get the care they need.

Right now, through our Learn, Heal, Thrive campaign, you can help even more children feel safe and supported.
