A grant of £60,000 to fund the project ‘Developing more effective and safer treatments for childhood leukaemia’ led by Professor Tariq Enver at UCL. The team at UCL are beginning to understand more about why there may be multiple paths to relapse, suggesting that treatments may need to be tailored to different groups of children depending on their leukaemia.

In addition, the team have found data to develop new, better diagnostic tests that can help doctors to identify people that are more likely to see their cancer return, these individuals can be closely monitored and give them the best possible chance of survival if the cancer returns.
