Naa’s Story

We first met Naa in 2016 when she was diagnosed with Wilm's Tumour at 7 years old. In 2021 the cancer returned and Naa underwent treatment again. She has battled cancer twice and is now back in school.

Our Programme Advisor and Psychosocial Support Advisor visited Malawi

Last year, our Country Programme Advisor Ghazaleh Kad and Psychosocial Support Advisor Megan Cruise visited Malawi to gain a direct insight into the people and projects that World Child Cancer supports in the country. During their visit, they also provided training to staff and attended home visits for cancer patients and their families.

Graduation of Second Associate Paediatric Oncology Nursing Programme in Ghana

World Child Cancer are celebrating the graduation of 12 nurses from the second specialist Associate Paediatric Oncology Nursing Programme in Ghana. With funding from the UBS Optimus Foundation and training delivered by the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives, the programme supports the early diagnosis of children with cancer, followed by evidence-based therapy and supportive care.

Nutrition Education webinars held for paediatric healthcare staff in Myanmar

World Child Cancer is supporting a Nutrition Education Programme in Myanmar for paediatric healthcare staff in collaboration with Erin Gordon. The webinars covered fundamentals of paediatric nutrition, and nutrition assessment and monitoring.
